What is it like to work
with a coach?

Although coaching is growing more and more every year, the experience might be new to you. Coaching is a unique relationship. It isn’t therapy, consulting, or mentoring.

So what is it?

Coaching is CONNECTION

At the heart of the coaching partnership is connection. Coaching is a human exchange, and humans thrive in an atmosphere of connection. Coaching is not necessarily friendship, but coaching relationships without a relational connection rarely produce results. Goals, action steps, and outcomes are always part of the conversation, but never at the expense of relational connection.

Coaching is CLIENT-CENTERED

Coaching is entirely client-centered. It’s never up to me to decide or steer the agenda. It’s my job as your coach to ask the critical, clarifying questions that allow you to self-realize your own places of needed growth and the action steps that will get you closer to your goals.

Coaching is FORWARD-FOCUSED

Coaching primarily looks forward. We don’t spend a lot of time deep-diving the past. It’s about assessing the present, deciding where you want to be, and crafting a doable plan to move you forward.

Coaching is ACTION-ORIENTED

While we may unpack complicated thought patterns and limiting beliefs, coaching is always in service to crafting tangible action steps that will help you accomplish your goals. Undershooting action will not create the momentum you need; overshooting can leave you frustrated and defeated. Coaching helps you determine your next right steps.

Coaching is REFLECTIVE

Taking time to integrate newfound self-knowledge is a critical part of growth. Skipping this step means missing opportunities to observe and honor how far you have come and how much you have learned. The momentum that comes from reflecting on your own growth is powerful fuel for continuing on in your story.
